The swof label (swof = sinus wave opening function) is a self-adhesive label for controlling the opening of flow wrap packs. .
Flow wraps are in widespread use for packaging particulate products. Opening flow wraps exactly has, however, been a problem up to now. The flow wrap generally tears in an uncontrolled way, which can lead to unintentional and unwelcome spilling of the pack contents. Possible solutions - such as perforation or zip closures - either destroy the water vapour barrier of the pack or are too expensive.
