The swof label is a self-adhesive label made from film or paper, which can be either printed or unprinted. It is applied to the opening area of the bag automatically during the packaging process. When the pack is torn at the point where it is marked and where there is perhaps a notch, the film initially tears until it meets the curved edge of the swof label. Once it has reached the edge of the swof label, the film then tears along the label to the outer edge of the flow wrap. An opening of a specific size is as a result created for removing the product at a specific location. The pack opening is stabilised, since it is defined by the swof label. This innovative new easy-opening aid can be adapted to any pack by varying the film material, the shape of the label and the position of the tear notch.
